Ministry - You Were Shaped to Serve

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others. 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

I realize that we live in a self-serving, me-first world, therefore, serving is not a very popular concept. Jesus however measured greatness in the terms of service, not status.

Get this quote from Rick Warren: “It is possible to serve in a church for a lifetime without ever being a servant!”

Fellowship - You Were Formed For Gods Family

So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. – Romans 12:5 (TNIV)

You can worship in a crowd but you cannot fellowship. Therefore as a church we must grow larger and smaller at the same time. How? Small groups! In fellowship, smaller is better! Many are stuck in superficial relationships. They may share a meal together, but do they really share life together?

How do we experience true biblical fellowship?

Worship - You Were Planned For Gods Pleasure

In Matthew 22:36-39 one day Jesus was walking down the street and a guy came up and said, “Lord, what’s the most important command in the entire Bible?” Jesus says, “Love the Lord your God. This is the first and greatest commandment.”

Probably the best verse that defines worship is Romans 12:1, “Because of God’s great mercy to us… offer yourselves as a living sacrifice to God, dedicated to His service and pleasing to Him. This is the true worship that you should offer.”

What does a person look like when they worship?

Today we’re beginning a study of “The Purpose Driven Life” and we’re going to look at life’s three greatest questions.

1. The question of existence – why am I alive?
2. The question of significance – does my life matter?
3. The question of intention – what is my purpose?
